Sparks fly with Rapid Agency and ETR Electrical

ETR Electrical is a well-established electrical testing and repair business serving customers in Northern Ireland and beyond.
Company Director and all around bright spark, James Munce, approached us to help push the company’s brand up to the next level and deliver graphic design, web and social media that would reflect ETR’s brand and mirrored their ambitions to be a leader in the field of electrical repair and testing. They also wanted an improved user experience with their website – particularly on mobile – with a view to improving leads through their website and social media.
James is a typically busy company director who manages electrical repair work across many commercial and residential accounts. It was important for him that as an agency we could hit the ground running and quickly grasp the look and feel of what it was he was after without repeated phone calls and meetings. After an initial meeting we did just this.
From market research we understand that many electrical installation companies can have outdated websites which instantly turn off their customer, leading to high bounce rates among competitor websites and sending the customer onto another high ranking search result.
From a look through ETR’s client base we defined two types of customers: residential & commercial. Both customer types don’t necessarily understand the technical terms meant for electrical professionals. A new website needed to cater for these customer types and their needs.
ETR’s new customer facing material needed to look extremely professional, whilst being modern and easy to understand at a glance. They needed to use customer friendly language that cut through industry jargon and turned a prospective browser into a lead.
With this in mind, our design for the new website was minimal – with large images and graphics to draw the eye. Content was written to be simple to understand, showing ETR’s technical knowledge while also highlighting their expertise in Electrical Safety and quickly building trust that this brand was ‘a step above’ within its industry.
At Rapid’s Digital Agency our Belfast based graphics and copywriting team were able to develop some well-formed plans for how ETR’s updated website, literature and social media accounts could look. We took these ideas to James at a follow up meeting and from there we began to move forward on delivering.
As part of this brand refresh we developed a new website on WordPress which resizes all images and quickly responds to the device that’s using it e.g. phone, tablet, desktop. We also incorporated a dynamic interface that pulls the company’s most recent customer reviews and social media posts onto the website’s main page. This keeps the website fresh so when a new customer visits the website the company doesn’t look dated as time passes.
To help ETR compete for new business and rank higher on Search Engine Result pages it’s important that we do Keyword Research on ETR’s competitors. To support this, every page on the website features unique, informative, keyword-driven content to help customers find what they’re looking for and more importantly it helps ETR compete for the first page of ranking results on Google.
We’ve also delivered training to James so that he is able to easily edit, adjust or expand on sections within his own website with ease.
We’ll continue to support ETR Electrical with their new site and social media accounts. ETR has already begun to see a sharp increase in online enquiries, and Rapid be running an AdWords campaign to further drive targeted traffic to the site.
