Here at Rapid Agency, we pride ourselves in being something of a one-stop-shop. In other words, give us your brief and we’ll take you from A-Z. Taking promising, intriguing business idea seedlings, and developing and nurturing them until they bloom, is what we do best. It has been our absolute pleasure to work with the fabulous new brand HICUP. We loved helping founder Emma to craft it into an exciting, wholesome business ready for launch, by designing a logo, branding, packaging, website and social content.
What is HICUP?
HICUP (HelpIng Communities cUP) is a social enterprise that extends a helping hand to the growing number of people using foodbanks in Northern Ireland, and further afield. To give you a flavour of the issue at hand; between April 2019 and March 2020, a staggering 1.9 million emergency food supplies were provided to people in crisis throughout the UK (Trussell Trust, 2020).
What HICUP does, is sell reusable hot-drink cups. As a minimum, £5 from each sale is donated to provide enough supplies to provide a meal for a family of four, or other desperately needed and appreciated items such as toiletries.
And why a reusable cup you ask? Every year in the UK, 2.5 billion coffee cups are used and tossed into the ever growing mountains of rubbish. That’s enough to stretch around the world roughly five and a half times. By purchasing a natural, bamboo fibre HICUP cup, you’re helping to save our beautiful planet and providing a lifeline to many families in need. Oh, and let’s not forget, they’re BPA free and dishwasher safe too. What’s not to love?
Logo, Branding & Packaging
After an initial consultation meeting, our graphic design team began researching around charitable organisations and design concepts in similar businesses. They brainstormed around HICUP’s core values and came up with the fish design, as a nod to the “Feeding of the 5,000” in the Gospels. A list of potential buyer personas were drawn up and much consideration was given to what would appeal to them aesthetically.
The next phase of the process was designing a Shopify website for HICUP. Our web design team opted for Shopify because of the option for ecommerce. It was made to be delivered on mobile or desktop, and crafted to load as fast as possible. An Ideal website load time for mobile sites is 1-2 seconds. The team designed the site in a clean and fresh way, with compelling, interesting copy, courtesy of our in-house copywriter.
Rapid are rooting for you, Emma!
It’s been a pleasure working with Emma, Boss Lady from HICUP. We can’t wait to watch this amazing social enterprise thrive and grow, helping people and the planet all the while.
From all of us here, Rapid are rooting for you Emma!
