Our work focused on creating a brand world that felt established yet renewed, paying homage to the venue’s history while aligning with the elevated experience promised by the renovated space.
Brand
The Anchor rebrand encompassed their traditional heritage and Irish hospitality, while adding modern refinements to elevate their brand for the future. The brand as a whole drew on the coastal location, with every detail being thoughtfully reimagined to reflect Portstewart’s vibrant spirit.
The inclusion of a wave pays homage to The Anchor’s original brand identity and reconnects the old and new. The wave was used to interconnect the letters, giving it a more fluent and modern feel. From the colour palette to the submarks, the maritime theme allowed us to stay true to their roots, using elements such as anchors, co-ordinates and rope. The same typeface and maritime theme were used across the three brands within The Anchor Complex – The Anchor Bar, Skippers and Riptide. This ensured the brands were visually cohesive and clearly part of one family.
Website Redesign
The Anchor website redesign not only reflected their updated branding but also allowed for a more intuitive site structure and user experience.
Instead of a traditional homepage, we designed an interactive scrolling menu that introduces each area of The Anchor. This approach not only made the browsing experience more dynamic but also helped users quickly grasp the range of offerings. Each section on the site was then structured to present information clearly, ensuring consistency across all pages.
Marketing
Our marketing strategy for The Anchor Complex is designed to increase brand awareness and engagement across The Anchor Bar, Skippers, Riptide and the on-site accommodation. Consistent social media activity has enhanced The Anchor’s refreshed identity with a combination of high-quality content creation and considered graphic design, allowing us to capture the atmosphere of the venue while communicating the breadth of its offering.
